ABOUT TIDY
Small tools.
Clear limits.
Tidy is an independent collection of free browser tools for three specific image jobs: making photos square, checking print sizes and removing supported JPEG metadata. No account or subscription is needed.
Who runs Tidy?
Tidy is built and run by Infinite Dev Works, a registered software business. It started as a passion project. We build practical tools for everyday tasks, and we’ll keep improving the tools we have and adding useful ones as we find more problems worth solving.

How we write the guides
The Tidy guides explain the problems behind each tool. Every figure in them is either calculated on the page, with the formula shown, or taken from the source named at the bottom of the guide, such as a platform's own help page. Each guide shows the date it was last checked, and we update guides when a platform changes its rules or a tool changes. If you spot an error, email support@tidy.onl and we'll correct it.
What the tools do
- Square Images adds white padding and exports newly encoded copies. It does not cut out backgrounds or add image detail.
- Print Size Check calculates effective PPI and shows cropping or borders at your chosen size. It estimates placement, not sharpness or guaranteed print quality.
- Photo Privacy Check removes supported JPEG metadata without recompressing the image data. It preserves required orientation and optionally ICC profiles. It is not an anonymity guarantee.
Files, hosting and funding
Selected images are processed in the current browser session. The tools have no image-upload endpoint or server-side photo history. Your originals are unchanged; saved downloads stay on your device.
Cloudflare hosts the sites. The tools use aggregate usage events; Google advertising and consent services make separate web requests and may use cookies. Free access does not mean the website makes no network requests. See the privacy and cookie policy for those services and choices.
Examples and testing
The Square and Print sample photos were AI-generated for demonstration. The Privacy sample is a synthetic test pattern with deliberately fictional metadata, including GPS coordinates 0, 0. None is a customer upload or a claim about real customer results.
Automated checks cover image limits and layout, print calculations, JPEG metadata removal and orientation, and ZIP creation. Browser checks exercise sample and selected-file workflows, exports, invalid inputs and narrow layouts. Privacy outputs are parsed again before being included in a ZIP; that check covers the supported JPEG metadata containers, not hidden information in pixels.
Browser encoders and colour handling can differ. Keep your originals, inspect the result, and check your printer or destination’s requirements. Each tool states its formats and size limits alongside the controls.

For a useful bug report, include the tool, browser and version, file format, chosen settings, steps to reproduce and the visible error. Please do not email private photos or extracted personal metadata. A harmless test file or fictional example is enough to start investigating.
